Senior Crusaders Place Second in the CT State Finals of the National Personal Finance Challenge
April 8th, 2025
Crusaders, Jonathan Pagan '25, Siddhartha Thapa '25, and Alex Vazquez '25 competed in The National Personal Finance Challenge, offered by The Council for Economic Education on Friday, April 4 at Voya Financial in Windsor, CT. This is the first time Holy Cross High School has participated in this challenge. Our students proved they were up to this challenge by finishing second in the CT State Finals.
The National Personal Finance Challenge is a nationwide competition that tests students’ knowledge of personal finance concepts. The state competition consists of three rounds. The first round is an online, 30-question quiz, with the top eight teams advancing to the state finals. The second and third rounds take place in person on the same day. In the second round, teams present a case study, and the top four teams move on to the final round — a quiz bowl competition. The winning team then advances to the National Championship.
