Friends of Wyatt Annual Art Awards
Shatter the Stigma
The families of two young men, Larry Gelinas and Wyatt Shea-Levandoski, who died too young, have partnered to endow this annual prize. The mission of this partnership is to empower people who suffer from substance misuse disorder to seek help and to shatter the shame and stigma of the disorder for families of those who suffer. The winning artworks will represent a vision of hope for a life free from addiction.
Prizes will be awarded as follows:
- 1st Prize - $500.00
- 2nd Prize $400.00
- 3rd Prize $100.00
Awards will be presented at 3:00 on May 3rd in the Alix Family Gallery at Holy Cross High School.
Works of art may be in any size and in any medium. Collage, digital art, photography, painting, drawing, and print-making are all accepted. Digital art should be printed out for display in a designated area of the Alix Family Gallery during the Arts on Oronoke exhibit and should be submitted to Mrs. Shea in the Art Department by April 1.
Janet L. Maher Awards for Excellence in Art

Janet L. Maher, who taught art at Holy Cross in 1976 and at Loyola University for the greater part of her career, is generously offering these annual art awards for excellence in art. The entire school community is invited to submit work to be judged by Ms. Maher. Prizes will be granted as follows:
- First place $200
- Second place $100
- Third place $50
The work will be judged by Ms Maher and awarded at the Arts on Oronoke reception on May 3rd at 2:45 pm in the Alix Family Gallery. Please submit work to Mrs Shea in the art dept if you are not enrolled in an art class.
