A Tribute to Heroism and Sacrifice

On September 11, 2024, Holy Cross High School and the City of Waterbury came together to host a 9/11 Memorial Tribute in honor of Father Francis E. Grogan, C.S.C. The event served as a poignant remembrance of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and paid tribute to the heroism and sacrifice shown by individuals like Father Grogan on that fateful day. The ceremony offered a space for reflection, healing, and unity as the community remembered and honored those who lost their lives.
Special guests include: The Honorable Paul K. Pernerewski, Jr. '79, Mayor of The City of Waterbury, Fred Spagnolo, Chief of the Waterbury Police, Stephen Ayotte, ’72 Waterbury Deputy Fire Chief, Police Pipes & Drums of Waterbury, Police Color Guard, Fire Color Guard and Waterbury First Responders, Rev. James Sullivan and Monsignor Thomas Ginty ‘76.
