Boys & Girls Cross Country Teams Take Home NVL Championships

It was a big night for our boys' and girls' cross country teams who took home NVL Championship wins.
The girls' cross country team achieved a remarkable victory in the NVL championship, vanquishing Watertown with a final score of 63 to 65. Leading the charge was Sofia Alonzo, who demonstrated her prowess by securing the seventh spot with an impressive time of 21:09, thereby earning the esteemed All NVL honors. In addition to Alonzo's outstanding performance, Shania Howard (10), Reagan Zupkus (12), Chanel Debicki (16), Cate Cruess (19), and Gina Barry (25) each played an integral role in the team's triumph and were duly recognized by making the All Brass Team. Furthermore, the team had another cause for celebration as Aurora Miller received the well-deserved co-outstanding senior accolade.
The boys' cross country team showcased their exceptional talent in the championship, with Jake Ferrare leading the pack and securing an admirable second place finish, clocking in at an impressive 16:56. Additionally, Ryan Depaulo distinguished himself with his performance, finishing eighth and earning the coveted All NVL recognition. The impressive collective effort of Patrick Cugliari (10), Aidan Devaney (12), Ray O'Connell (17), Cole Promotico (22), and Bryan Gallino (40) proved instrumental in securing the team's consecutive championship victory. These individuals were also acknowledged for their outstanding contribution to the team's success by being named to the All Brass Team. Notably, this victory for the boys' team marks a significant milestone, as it is their second consecutive championship win. The girls' triumph, on the other hand, carries historical importance, being their first championship title in over a decade since 2007.
