Helping Hands, Holy Cross High School’s Community Service Group, worked on a number of service projects in honor of National Volunteers Week.
- Gardening – In partnership with the Gardening club, Helping Hands planted flowers in the front of the school building
- Sandwich Making – In partnership with the National Honor Society, Helping Hands made sandwiches for the local shelter. NHS does this act every Wednesday throughout the school year.
- Reading & Crafting – In partnership with the United Wat Upstarters, Helping Hands visited the Muriel Moore Child Development Center in Waterbury. Students read and crafted with preschool children.
- Crusader Hall of Honor Preparation – In partnership with Holy Cross High School’s Maintenance staff and the Advancement Office, Helping Hands moved tables, chairs, etc. to help set up and prepare for the 2022-2023 Crusader Hall of Honor.
National Volunteer Week, as described by Points of Light, is an opportunity to recognize the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers to tackle society’s greatest challenges, to build stronger communities and be a force that transforms the world.
