Crusaders Stand Strong against Cancer at Pink Out Game
November 15th, 2022
The annual Holy Cross Pink Out Game to benefit Breast Cancer Research was held on Monday, November 14th at Municipal Stadium. The Crusader community watched as the varsity football team scored a victory against Torrington High School.
A special ceremony was held during halftime to commemorate those who have been affected by cancer. Students formed a giant ribbon on the field as the names of loved ones and friends were announced.
“The vibrant pink that lines our field today serves as more than simple decorations but rather represents the call to arms each one of us has taken in the battle against breast cancer and the hope that we will one-day triumph over its effects,” said Celine Assahoua ’23. “We unite here free from the bias of racial, spiritual, and regional segregation and under the singular standard of humanity. We stand strong and firm in our prayers of peace, hope, and courage in hopes that the light that shines inside of each of us here today will one day grow bright enough to illuminate the darkness of cancer.”
