The Holy Cross High School family lost a beloved member of our Girls Basketball coaching staff on Monday, February 10th. Michael Stanco had been Coach Frank Lombardo’s right-hand man within our Girls Basketball program for the better part of three decades. His wisdom, love for the game, and compassion for our student-athletes were unmatched. We will forever be grateful for his service to our school. His legacy will continue to live on through the many young women’s lives he touched over the years. Our prayers are with Michael’s wife and family.

Faculty members, Rosanne Shea, Aleta Dubecky and Lucy Gallagher ‘17, accompanied ten Art and Science students to the Yale University Department of Conservation. During their visit, conservators specializing in works on paper, paintings, and three-dimensional art objects shared their expertise in restoring and conserving artworks from around the world. These pieces ranged in age from hundreds to thousands of years old. Each conservator provided insight into their academic journey, including their undergraduate majors, master’s work, and specialized experience in the field of conservation.
Following this, they were hosted at the lithography, etching, and fine art printmaking shop by Irene Bednarczyk, a class of 2010 alumna. The students gained invaluable knowledge from this experience, discovering new possibilities for their future careers.
Elijah Parker ‘25 has been nominated by Gametime CT as Athlete of the Week. Each week, the GameTimeCT staff selects five athletes competing in boys high school sports and five competing in girls sports as finalists. Let’s give Elijah our support with our vote! As we gather in this season of gratitude, the Holy Cross High School community extends our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you—our students, families, faculty, staff, and alumni. We are blessed by the love, dedication, and commitment that define our school family.
This Thanksgiving, we reflect on the many blessings we share—our strong faith, the joy of learning, and the support we give one another as we grow in knowledge, character, and service. Together, we create an environment where every person is valued, and where we strive to live out the mission of the Holy Cross tradition of compassion, community, respect and hope.
May this Thanksgiving holiday inspire kindness, gratitude, and humility in each of us. May the memories of those who are no longer with us bring us strength and solace. And may you all know how deeply grateful Holy Cross is for each of you.
